A great starting point in this adventure is the front door. Doors and wreaths since I was a young child constantly came hand in hand once the season started.  The only variation the wreaths would have from year to year is the combination of ribbons, pinecones and flora on it. Instead of a wreath why not try garlands. Hang a garland at the top part of the door’s threshold letting the ends to fall to the sides so it frames the door. It does not need to outline the complete door just the upper sections will do. Another great idea would be to decorate it like a Christmas tree with ribbons and tinsel, this gives the feeling that behind the door more excitement await. Conversely, because we used the garland to decorate the door its traditional spot at the mantle can now be spruced up in another way. A great idea would be to place different candles on it. Purchasing candles which have a Christmas theme is something our family has been doing for a while. Candles elaborately shaped just like trees or perhaps those simple ones in the Christmas colors of red and green will do nicely. Group them with each other on the mantle based on your style and break up the monotony with a vase of blossoms. Remember to use candle colors that pop like red, cranberry and lively hues of green.

Christmas tassels are not only for curtains we can also suspend them on door knobs, at the end of tables, desks or drawers. These accents are noticed as soon as a visitor enters a room. What I like about tassles is that it gives a little color and decadence to a room, not too much, just sufficient to make it interesting. We also need not buy something totally new or Christmas specific accessories just to make our homes ready for the holidays. Any items like vases, bowls, bottles that are colored red or green can be arranged artfully on side or center tables and just like that you’ve got a Christmas themed display. Now that we are discussing table ware, during daily family meals this season you can still put a touch of Christmas by using accent colors to make the table look fun. Please do not go out of your way to get plates that all match or have Christmas decor in it, you can just select a gold, cranberry or green plate from your existing stash. If you want to go for broke, decide which Christmas recipes you will be making on Christmas day, check the colors involved, and opt for table decoration that is matching the colors present in the meal.

During the holidays our family generally set aside time for gift wrapping. Make this year your ribbon filled year and don’t hesitate to use lots of it. Make the package look like it is just bursting with Christmas joy. Let the individual you are gifting feel that the gift isn’t just the box but also how you spent time to wrap the gift.

These days it is often unavoidable to host dinner parties at ones’ home at one time or another. Having specific refreshment stations in ones’ house is infinitely helpful because to many people it is often traditional to visit other people’s houses to spread Yuletide cheer. One of the most critical help hubs this time of the year will be the mini bar hub. Obtaining a real bar can be very costly so making a substitute bar will do just fine. Any waist high shelf like a china cupboard can be used to function as a working bar. Tumblers, champagne flutes and wineglasses ought to be kept in the bar for informal and formal occasions. 

Don’t forget to also include several trays for serving, an ice pail, tongs and cocktail napkins. Having all these things located in one location reduces the time you would lose searching for them if you have unexpected visitors. It also lessens the host’s nervousness level which is ideal since he or she still has to think of said guests.

You can also add a little atmosphere to the place by putting candles and lighting them in selected areas, you can also keep the matches in your mini bar.  Christmas music CDs can also be stored in your mini bar. If you have an iPod you can put in Christmas songs there as well for easy access, just be sure to put a docking station in the space where you will serve the drinks. 

If drinks are not appropriate for when a friend visits perhaps coffee would be better. Another hub or center you can ready is one for coffee. With all the late night celebrations this Yuletide season a coffee center would be much appreciated by a plenty of your friends and relations.  Our Cuisinart coffee maker is frequently stored in a non-glamorous nook of the kitchen, this season polish it up and get it ready for center stage. You may place your coffee spot in the kitchen or the dining room. Even before the guests settle down start brewing the coffee as its aroma is guaranteed to calm them down. Your coffee corner should have fine quality ground coffee beans in a dry, airtight jar. In the immediate area also ready table napkins, cups, saucers, and eating utensils. A set of milk and sugar containers must also be added. To complete this soothing paradise in your house 2 airtight jars of cookies or Biscotti is a must. The cookies and Biscotti are ideal for the busy person because it has long shelf life. If you can’t come up with any suitable Christmas nibbles to go with the drinks, look online and you will find an abundance of Christmas recipes that are quick to prepare.

So surprise visitors and a host with a hectic schedule will definitely benefit from these two beverage centers in ones’ house. Earlier planning as you can see will be able save not only time but headache, stress and possible embarrassment. Have great fun setting up your refreshment hubs and even more fun using them.

I absolutely LOVE Christmas time! I love the trees, the lights, the music, the decorations, the good sprits, and especially the presents. I actually like to give presents more than I like to get them… and I LOVE to get them. HA HA!! So.. Phew, well I finally got this finished on time, right on Christmas Eve. So this is my gift to all of you this year, I really hope you enjoyed this. But please take note that there is a message I want to give all of you through this video.

The reason I choose this song, and not a typical Christmas song was for a few reasons. One obviously could be because I want to be unique with my Christmas AMV. However I wanted to give a reminder that Christmas isn’t just about giving physical presents, stressing over buying the right items before Christmas, and such. If there is anything you can do for someone for Christmas, wish them for better days. They may already be having great times, or they may not. Either way, wishing someone to have better days is something everyone can enjoy, and I wish the same thing for all of you with this.
